- Have you ever thought that the reason most apps don't use an MMU is
- because developers can't depend on it? That's just like PC users who said
- they don't need fast fpu's because most apps don't use it. While the
- whole time developers were screaming how much easier it would be to code
- if the PC chips had decent fpu performance. Lion software and other game
- developers who port PC games to the Mac have said how much easier the
- P-Macs are to code because of the much better floating point performance.

- Yes it does. A PPC 601-60Mhz Mac with SpeedDoubler can run most 68K Mac
- software as fast as an '040-40Mhz Quadra 840AV. The 603e chips are about
- the same speed per Mhz as the 601's.
